Claire Sweeney once revealed how she was chatted up by Bill Clinton – cheekily branding him a “dirty dog.”
The actress, 52, is a regular on screens and a firm favourite with viewers. From several soap appearances to stints in the West End, Claire has kept busy over the years.
She has even signed up for this year’s Dancing On Ice and will take to the ice during Sunday’s episode (January 22). Claire is joined by the likes of Amber Davies and Ricky Norwood for the new series.

And with a career spanning over two decades, it’s no surprise that Claire has rubbed shoulders with a slew of famous people, including Bill Clinton. And apparently he even tried to chat her up and made a remark about his “middle leg.”
In an interview from 2009, the star revealed that she “is not into swinging” but admitted she was once chatted up by former president, Bill Clinton. Claire told the Daily Mail she encountered the former president at Cliff Richardson’s party in Russia.
She then detailed the chatty conversation that followed. Claire revealed: “Clinton came over and started chatting me up. I thought: ‘You dirty dog’. His bodyguard then came over and said: ‘Mr. President, we need to go’.”
She then said Clinton managed to prolong his stay at the party and returned to her side to continue their chat. The star recalled asking him: “You don’t want to go, do you?’ He said: ‘How can you tell?’ I said ‘because your left leg is dancing’.”
To which 62-year-old Clinton is alleged to have responded: “My middle leg will be dancing soon!” Claire, who was on the soap Brookside and played Roxie Heart in Chicago, refused the refuted ladies man. She said: “I shook his hand but decided I was going home with a clean dress that night!”
