Now, the star from Celebs Go Dating wants everyone to know about the terrifying ordeal to raise awareness and help stop it happening to others. He’s still shocked by what happened and is coming to terms with the attack.
Ryan-Mark, who was on The Apprentice in 2019, told The Mirror: “I became out of control and after ten minutes I am sat on the loo for what must have been nearly half an hour. I was completely delirious. Everything is fragmented, but it was a blurry, pounding sensation. It’s foggy from there.”
“I have no idea how I got out of the club but I remember tripping up. Then I was taken to a car in Soho. My mobile phone was put on charge and they wouldn’t let me go. I remember becoming aggressive and I forced my way out and thank god I did.”, reports OK!.
“When you are spiked, you lose your sense of fear. It’s totally gone. I could have jumped into the Thames if it came into my mind. I have sky-dived and this was just as scary. Whatever that person laced my drink with took control of my mind, it is completely terrifying and it is problem that appears to be only getting worse and worse.”
Ryan-Mark’s experience comes after Sky News reporter Kate McCann from Times Radio told everyone about her own experience with spiking. She posted on X, which used to be Twitter: “I had my drink spiked in a bar by a group of men so brazen they didn’t care who saw.”
A new YouGov survey says that 11% of women and 6% of men say they’ve been spiked. Tory MP Laura Farris told The Sunday Times that more people are talking about this now.
She said: “Spiking is now part of an MP’s weekly casework. People, mostly a parent of the victim, increasingly write to say this is an issue. It happens often.”
