Desperate Housewives’ Scavo twins may be identical – but they don’t share everything.
From season five until the end, the red-head lads were played by Max and Charlie Carver. They took over the roles from Brent and Shane Kinsman, who played them from season one to five.
The twins were involved in a number of storylines, often causing trouble around Wysteria Lane. Charlie played Porter Scavo, while his brother Max played Preston.

Back then, they were identical, and it would be difficult for viewers to tell them apart unless mum Lynette (Felicity Huffman) was shouting at one of them. Nowadays, aged 36, they’ve grown their own personal style.
Over the past year, Charlie has been seen with blonde hair, while Max has had very dark brown locks. However, that isn’t the only thing different about the twins.
The Carver twins actually don’t share a birthday. In fact, they’re also born in two completely different months.
Charlie was born on July 31. Younger twin Max was born seven minutes later on August 1.
While it seems strange, it probably helped a lot when they were kids. They’d be able to each have their own birthday celebrations, after all.
The twins aren’t overly active on social media much now, but have both enjoyed successful careers since getting their start in Desperate Housewives.
Unsurprisingly, they often play twins still. From 2013 to 2015 they appeared in the MTV reboot of Teen Wolf as Aiden and Ethan Steiner – twin werewolves.
They played Adam and Scott Frost in the first season of The Leftovers. More recently, they played villains The Twins in 2022 movie The Batman, in which Robert Pattinson played the DC superhero.
The duo have also enjoyed success away from each other. Charlie, who came out as gay in 2016, has appeared in a few Ryan Murphy productions, including American Horror Story: NYC and Ratched.
Meanwhile, Max hasn’t picked up quite as many acting roles, but has shown support to a number of organisations and charities. He also protested with brother Charlie in 2023 during the SAG AFTRA strike.
The protest photo also happened to be Charlie’s birthday.
But not Max’s.
