Interestingly, he wanted to name another son after Robert Redford, the director of Ordinary People, but faced opposition. He recalled: “I wanted to name another son after Robert Redford, but when then the child was born [a woman at the maternity ward] said, ‘No you can’t do that, you can’t name a child Redford.’ So we named him Angus – Angus Redford.”, reports the Mirror US.

Kiefer, who Donald shared with ex-wife Shirley Douglas, has issued a heartbreaking statement following his father’s passing. Donald shared sons Roeg, Rossif and Angus with his third wife, Francine Racette.

The 24 actor paid tribute to his father by sharing a black and white photograph of them together along with a touching message: “With a heavy heart, I tell you that my father, Donald Sutherland, has passed away. I personally think one of the most important actors in the history of film.
