Eagle-eyed Oasis fans spot huge coincidence ahead of mystery 8am announcement

Eagle-eyed Oasis fans have spotted a peculiar political oddity ahead of the legendary band’s mystery 8am annoucement and reported reformation.

Reports on Sunday (August 25) suggested that siblings Noel and Liam Gallagher have put their long-running feud behind them and are set to reunite on stage for the first time since 2009 with a coveted headline set at Glastonbury and a series of gigs in London and Manchester.

The brothers are already talking again and their war of words lasting decades is over.

Social media has been buzzing with excitement since the rumours gathered pace, but one fan of the Britpop legends noticed something peculiar about how Oasis have straddled Labour governments.

The bloke, George, posted on X saying ‘noticing’ alongside screenshots of the last seven Prime Ministers of the United Kingdom.

Oddly, Oasis have appeared to avoid the Tories all together, forming during Gordon Brown’s stint as PM (2007-10), breaking up during five Conservative premierships, and re-forming (maybe) under the current government, headed by Labour leader Keir Starmer.

If the X post holds true and the 8am announcement tomorrow, August 27, is one about the band getting back together – that would mean that Oasis has avoided the governments of David Cameron, Theresa May, Boris Johnson, the disaster of Liz Truss and also Rishi Sunak’s.

The band were also together for the reign of Labour’s Tony Blair from 1997 to 2007. They actually formed when Conservative party leader John Major (November 1990 – May 1997) was in charge, in 1991.

It comes after the band teased an announcement on the official Instagram page. The post shows the date August 27, and the time 8am. It has over 360,000 likes.

Formed in Manchester in 1991, Oasis had eight number one singles including Some Might Say and Don’t Look Back In Anger.

The Gallagher brothers’ last live gig together was in Paris in 2009. At their peak they played two legendary gigs at Knebworth to 250,000 fans.

The band split after a dressing room bust-up in Paris in 2009, with both brothers pursuing new musical avenues – Noel with his High Flying Birds and Liam initially with band Beady Eye and later as a solo act.
