EastEnders Cindy star reveals her husband’s hilarious reaction to steamy onscreen affair

EastEnders star Michelle Collins has opened up on her husband’s response to watching her character having an affair onscreen.

The Cindy Beale star, 62, is currently having it off with her ex George Knight’s son Junior, despite being in a relationship with Ian Beale. Michelle starred on today’s episode of This Morning and talked about her soap role.

Speaking to hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley, Michelle revealed that she doesn’t usually watch the soap but did to clue herself up for today’s interview. Michelle said: “I don’t normally watch the show because I can’t bear watching myself, but I watched it last night because I was coming on here.

“And I did kind of warn my husband and I said ‘Do you mind not watching it with me? As I want to watch it on my own.

“But he watched it later on catchup and said ‘That was OK, it wasn’t exactly Game of Thrones was it?'”

The studio erupted into laughter at his hilarious response – showing she was worried for nothing. Michelle is married to her partner of 12 years, Mike Davidson, and they tied the knot together in August 2022.

Michelle added further about her character: “I just think she’s become everything we’ve told as women not to be. She’s insecure, she’s overemotional, she loves too much, she acts before she thinks about things.

“But that situation happened last night, she’s been rejected by George, and she’s going through a bad time with Ian. Her and Junior have kind of been rejected by George.

“That’s the thing about two lonely people, it’s like they have been drawn together. I still don’t understand here and I’m playing her, it’s hard to get my head around why she does these things.

“It’s like be careful what you wish for isn’t it, I’ve been back for a year and been thinking ‘She’s kind of nice, things are going well for her, she’s back with her kids’. Then suddenly, it’s like ‘Uh oh’ Cindy loves a drama.”
