EastEnders Reiss Colwell’s next victim has been ‘revealed’ – and it’s bad news for Sonia Fowler.
The accountant (Johnny Freeman) has been overwhelmed in recent weeks with the stresses surrounding money. As fans will recall, Reiss is married to Debbie, who is hospitalised in a long-term coma after suffering a stroke in the bath.
At first, Reiss was using money from Debbie to fund his and partner Sonia’s (Natalie Cassidy) IVF journey, but with Debbie’s care home fees mounting, Reiss resorted to desperate measures and started scamming Sharon (Letitia Dean).

But during Wednesday’s trip to the Square (July 24), things took a very dark turn when Reiss visited Debbie in the care home.
He broke down and spoke about the amount of debt he had got himself into, and how he wished Debbie could communicate with him and not live a ‘pitiful, pointless half-life’.
Reiss then told Debbie that if she died, he could start over and stood up as he moved a pillow from behind Debbie’s head and gave her a kiss on the forehead. Reiss cried and looked down at Debbie as he prepared to smother her face.
And in Thursday’s episode (July 25) it was confirmed that Debbie was dead – leaving Reiss overcome with emotion – but able to cover his guilt.
Along with Sonia, Reiss headed to the care home, where a nurse told them that they think Debbie had died from complications due to her recent pneumonia.
However, fans now fear that Debbie was merely his first victim. In what would be a huge twist, fans reckon he could end up killing Sonia.
On X, one person said: “Could Sonia be the next Reiss’s victim? I reckon he’ll kill her too.” A second wrote: “Reiss kills Sonia on the 40th anniversary, I’m calling it.”
Someone else replied and penned: “I wouldn’t be surprised.” A fourth proclaimed: “I hope reiss’ next victim is sonia atp because both characters need to get gone I’m so bored of them.”
EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer
