Lisa Marie Presley’s shock death was in part down to “trauma” experienced living with the madness and aftermath of life with her dad Elvis.

Her uncle David Stanley feels that his niece’s “life in a fishbowl” because of being the child of the King of Rock and Roll contributed to her passing.

Elvis’ step brother Stanley believes Lisa, her mother Priscilla and he have all suffered mental health fallout for decades through their lives being interwoven with Elvis through highs and lows.

David expressed his insight into the struggles that Lisa Marie faced throughout her life attempting to step out of her superstar dad’s shadow “with zero identity”.

He admitted that life for him and Lisa Marie was “nuts” and described her being “trapped in a cave” unable to break away and live a normal life.

David, who sobbed for hours after Lisa Marie’s passing, admitted he remains in the dark “about what really happened” – even though coroners declared her death down to complications caused by stomach surgery problems.

Her shock death at West Hills Hospital.shocked the world as just two days earlier she’d been on the red carpet of the 2023 Golden Globes celebrating the success of Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis biopic.

Now David is reflecting on Lisa-Marie’s death around the release of her memoir which is co-written by daughter Riley Keough.

He said: “It just broke my heart because she was trapped from day one.

“She was Elvis’ daughter, in this cave where she can’t get out and I can relate to it.

“My brothers Billy, Richard (Ricky), myself, we were only four or five or six years old when we moved into Graceland in that fishbowl.

“We were not allowed to do anything outside the walls of Graceland and she grew up that way. She became very rebellious.

“She didn’t know who to trust and who not to trust.”

Four time divorcee Lisa Marie endured a lifetime of struggles including a failed music career, addictions, esteem issues, a custody battle and the suicide of her son Benjamin.

David added: “You have zero identity.

“Lisa experienced that. I’m telling you, the same thing I experienced growing up at Graceland.

“I can relate to Lisa more than anybody because I was in that fishbowl as a kid growing up.”
