Emmerdale’s Tom King has continued his reign of terror against Belle Dingle
The ITV soap aired a special episode on Tuesday (May 7) night showing two different perspectives of the same day. Viewers experienced a dinner party but in two halves; one from the perspective of Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry) and Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) from the dinner table and one from the perspective of newlyweds Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper) and Tom (James Chase) from the kitchen.
As guests arrived for the dinner party, tensions simmered between Rhona and Marlon as lovey-dovey Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) and Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) only heighten the awkwardness and Tom’s toast about marital solidarity exposed the cracks in Rhona and Marlon’s relationship even further.

As Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick), Suzy Merton ( Martelle Edinborough), Paddy and Mandy attempt to enjoy the evening. Belle excuses herself, saying the onions made her cry, as her relationship with the controlling Tom is strained.
As a row between Rhona and Marlon erupted and they lay bare their issues publicly. Rhona tried leaving, but defiant Marlon rejected it, forcing Rhona to seemingly end their marriage in front of everyone. In the kitchen, Belle put the finishing touches to the Dale Head dinner.
Critical Tom asked his wife to change into a more appropriate outfit and she compliantly heads upstairs. In the kitchen alone, Tom made a discovery, but before he could confront Belle, the guests started to arrive. As Belle popped upstairs, Tom joined her in the bathroom and he reveals he’s found the contraceptive pills she’s been taken despite them agreeing to have a baby.
Tom doesn’t let Belle out of his sight in the kitchen. When Rhona finally put her foot down to leave following her argument with Marlon, the other guests apologetically followed suit. Belle was clearly desperate for people to stay but they all made their excuses to make a swift exit. As the guests departed, fans watched the terrifying reality of Belle’s life with the menacing Tom. As she tried to get out of her husband’s grip, Tom pulled her hand and put it under the boiling hot tap, leaving her screaming in pain.
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
