One Emmerdale star was supported by his soap colleagues as he admitted he’s been hospitalised four times in the past year.
Simon Lennon rose to fame as Aaron Dingle’s boyfriend Ben Tucker in the ITV soap from 2020 until 2021, starring in 62 episodes in total before his character was brutally murdered by serial killer Meena Jutla. But in his private life, Simon has been struggling with numerous health battles.
In his latest Instagram post, he shared a selfie while wearing a white and green hospital gown, his brunette hair slightly mussed and only half of his face on display as he smiled for the camera. In his caption, the actor explained: “Was in hospital last week to have a small procedure/surgery and was feeling quite reflective.

“I’ve been in hospital for four different reasons in the last year and, luckily, I’m fine and doing well. I feel so unbelievably grateful for the NHS, the wonderful care workers we have looking after us, and the tireless level of dedication and support that they offer. Legends.”
His soap co-stars quickly rushed to offer their support, with Emmerdale’s Fiona Wade – who played Priya Sharma in the soap – writing: “Hope you’re okay darling, sending love!” Coronation Street star Bhavna Limbachia, who played Rana Nazir from 2016 until 2019, added: “Sending love and healing your way.”
Her fellow Corrie star Jordan Ford Silver, best known for playing Emma Brooker’s boyfriend Jon Spear in 2022, wrote: “Hope you’re all good brother, sending love.” More fans also chimed in with support of their own, with one writing: “Sorry you’ve had this going on Si, take time and look after you, it’s not just the physical recovery it’s emotional and mental too. Sending positive vibes your way.”
Another said: “Glad to know you’re doing okay now, sending lots of love.” While a different social media user said: “Sending lots of healing to you Si.”
Simon has never clarified exactly what health battles he’s facing, though in 2021 he confirmed he has been diagnosed with obsessive compulsive disorder. The star explained: “Going to different auditions and not knowing what is coming up next is what I love most.

“I struggled with OCD when I was younger and had therapy. I’m not great when I am in a routine and have to break out. That’s why I’m so excited about being back in that world of auditions and working out what will happen next,” he said upon his exit from the soap.
He explained: “I had to touch the table with both hands a lot as a child. I always wanted to balance and tap things. I was quite academic and my brain works with numbers quite quickly. I was encouraged to go to university but turned down all my offers because my leanings were to be creative.”
