Charity is concerned when she hears about Tom King’s (James Chase) job interview in Wales and his sudden departure from the village with Belle and calls Cain and admits how Tom reminds her of Mark Bails (Rocky Marshall).
The following day, Cain worries as he also struggles to contact Belle.. Charity later discovers Belle has been missing her mental health appointments. so they both decide to break into their house to find out where Tom and Belle have gone.
Once inside they are alarmed by Tom’s surveillance equipment and during their rummaging Charity soon finds an address for a cottage in Wales in Tom’s budget book. They also discover Belle’s phone stashed in a drawer.
A very worried Cain and Charity decide to head to Wales in search of them. Before long Cain and Charity arrive at the trashed holiday cottage in Wales to find blood on the wall and no Belle in sight.
Opening up about being part of the hard-hitting storyline, Emma said at Emmerdale press day: “Working with Jeff again was just magic because I haven’t worked with him in quite a while and we just seem to have this effortless chemistry when we get together because we know each other, we know our history and our characters somehow really work together.
“It’s great that we’re not a couple but we can come together a crisis. We trust each other and I love the fact that Cain does listen to Charity and I just loved it. I love Jeff.”
Flashback scenes will follow which will show Belle and Tom arrive at the holiday cottage but before long Belle is confused to overhear Tom arranging to rent the cottage for longer. Soon viewers will see the rest of the week as the seemingly pleasant trip turns into a terrifying ordeal for Belle.
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
