Emmerdale’s Moira Dingle has been through a lot in the Dales, and fans are now convinced she’s set to have an affair with a fellow villager in a shock twist
Emmerdale’s Moira Dingle, played by Natalie J. Robb, might be heading for a surprise fling with another villager, fans speculate.
The soap icon first graced the famous Dales in 2009 and has since become a viewer favourite and cherished character. Moira’s journey on the soap has been a rollercoaster, including marrying into the Dingle family and dealing with her daughter’s drug overdose.
Moreover, this year in the renowned village, Moira was hit with the life-altering news of a brain tumour diagnosis after exhibiting unusual behaviour and seizures. She underwent surgery in November.
However, unbeknownst to her, during her operation, her husband Cain (Jeff Hordley) had an affair with Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly). Fans will remember that Cain has been grappling and spiralling since Moira’s diagnosis.

Following his unexpected sexual encounter with Ruby, he’s continued to spiral, burdened with guilt while avoiding Ruby to keep their secret rendezvous hidden – and so far, he’s succeeded. However, in Monday’s episode (December 9), Cain was thrown off when Ruby and Caleb (William Ash) decided to visit Moira at home post-surgery, reports Leeds Live.
Feeling trapped and desperate to prevent Moira from suspecting their affair, Cain quickly fabricated an excuse to leave. He deceived his family by claiming he needed to travel to Dudley to pick up a vintage car.
Despite feeling betrayed, Moira decided to plan a surprise birthday party for Cain as a thank you for his support during her illness. However, in the episode aired on December 10, Cain chose to skip Moira’s hospital appointment where she was due to receive her surgery results.
He quickly regretted his decision but ended up behind bars after crashing a car and assaulting a police officer. As expected, Moira was livid when she received a call from Cain in jail.
Now, fans are speculating that Moira might cheat on Cain with Liam Cavanagh (played by Jonny McPherson) amidst all the chaos in the Dales. Additionally, another theory suggests that Moira might already be aware of Cain’s affair with Ruby and is plotting her revenge.
On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, one viewer posted: “At this point it wouldn’t surprise me if Moira ends up cheating.” Another added: “I can see her do that now Cain has. With Dr Liam? ” A third speculated: “What if all this time Moira knows about Cain and is planning some revenge? He could catch her in bed with Liam.”
