A former Emmerdale star who now lives the high life revealed three things she misses about Thailand – after briefly returning to the UK.
Kelli Hollis, who famously played Ali Spencer on the soap, runs her own “weed bar” and told the Daily Star last year she would never move back to Britain.
However, she is now here until March, and she spoke to her 202,000 TikTok followers about what she is struggling without.
Recording a video, Kelli, who is from Leeds, said: “Here are the top three things that I miss about Thailand. And I am whispering because I am croaky and it is early and I can’t be bothered.
“So number one – the weather. It goes without saying. The weather.
“Number two – the pace. The pace and everything… I know I have had a hectic week, probably not the most normal week you would have, but everything just seems like hectic, fast, even when I was walking the other day, but that was because it was f***ing cold. I just thought oh my god, everything just feels urgent.
“But number three, this is a deal breaker for me now living in the UK, or living back in the UK, the bum gun. Do you know the squirty thing at the side of the toilet? I don’t mean to overshare but mate, that is a life changer. And I am sorry, but going back to the UK and not having a bum gun, I feel like a cave woman.”
Her last point got many of her followers talking and one person replied: “Everyone who comes back misses the bum gun. We’re getting one fitted when we get our new bathroom. All the showrooms do them now.”
A second wrote: “Yes 14 year bk home n i still miss the bum gun, u have to have like a planning permission to have it fitted in uk. (sic)”
And a third commented: “The pace of life here is 4000mph compared to 40mph.”
Kelli runs her La Choza Pratumnak bar in Pattaya with her partner Martin, where smoking cannabis for personal use was decriminalised two years ago.
Despite now living a completely different life, she is still best known for being in Emmerdale from 2011 until 2015, where Kelli played the mum of Sean and Amelia.
She also starred in Shameless and her Thailand adventure happened by “total accident” after her partner was offered a job with a car company in Bangkok.
They did some travelling and met someone who had just got a licence for selling weed before the actress took a leap of faith.
Many of her customers are older expats and many have recognised her from the show and she said her lifestyle is a complete contrast to “wet and miserable” Britain.
