A 61-year old First Dates star left her potential suitor blushing in a recent episode as she detailed her unusual – but erotic – hobby.
Finance worker Sandra left 60-year-old part-time DJ Lance in shock as the pair discussed what they like to do in their spare time. Prior to their chat barman Merlin Griffiths visited the pair’s table to thank Sandra for her gift – a nude female candle for him to display in the show’s Botanist Bar restaurant in Bath.
“It’s wonderful!” said Merlin, prompting Lance to quiz Sandra on what he was referring to. As 48-year-old Merlin headed back to the bar, Sandra simply explained: “I make candles.” Curious, Lance responded: “So, tell me about your candles.”

After explaining that they’re “exotic” rather than erotic, Lance smirked: “Are you saying they are erotic?” – resulting in Sandra spilling the beans.
Getting straight to the point, Sandra admitted with an eyebrow raised: “I make penis candles.” Shocked by what he heard, Lance responded: “Penis candles?” The programme then broke to a clip of Sandra in a confessional room where she provided viewers with an explanation.
Clearly proud of her work, she held one of her designs up to the camera and quipped: “That is my c*** candle,” – before lighting it. “Look at that! When it starts to melt, it starts to dribble,” she added.
Back at their table, Lance asked a waitress for her thoughts on the designs, before Sandra confirmed the candles do indeed have “balls attached” in response to a further question from her date. Stepping up her interest, the waitress pondered if there were a variety of sizes on offer.
“No, there’s only one size, darling… 12-inch,” quipped Sandra, leaving the two ladies in fits of giggles and Lance taken aback once more.

Last month presenter Fred Sirieix explained to the Daily Star why his show is so successful. “First Dates is different to other shows like Love Island,” he said. “It’s about people finding true love. It’s about making a true meaningful connection. It’s not for any other reason but the connection. It’s pure in its very essence.
“There aren’t any fireworks. We don’t have anything on the side to distract from the purpose of the show. That’s what I like about First Dates. With a lot of shows, too many things get diluted or there are things on the side. But First Dates is pure.”
