Gemma Atkinson has admitted that she loves to spend time apart from her fiancé – with him quickly agreeing with her sentiment.
The radio presenter, 39, currently shares two children with the Strictly Come Dancing star, 33. But the new admission has added to growing speculation that the pair have been going through a rough patch in their relationship.
Former actress Gemma first fell for the Spanish dancing star when she appeared on the BBC show. Since then, the pair have seemed to be loved up ever since, but recent reports have said there has been trouble in paradise.

Speaking to OK! magazine, Gemma said: “Part of the reason why it still feels so fresh is because we’re not together 24/7.”

She continued: “In February, we’ll be six years [together], with two babies, and I still get excited to see him, but I think if we were together all the time, I wouldn’t. I miss him, but I also think it’s a good thing because it keeps the spark alive.”
It comes as Gorka has had to leave Gemma with the kids after bagging a huge role on the Spanish version of the hit dancing show. The programme, titled ‘Bailando con las Estrellas’ (Dancing with the Stars), means that Gorka is often forced away from his brood to film in Madrid.
Gorka himself also agreed with Gemma’s viewpoint and said that due to having jobs within the media, it means they often do not see each other that much. But he insisted that the time they do spend together is precious and valued.

“Then we come together, and in a way, it keeps the relationship alive and gives you a freshness,” Gorka admitted. The pair added that they have been able to make their relationship work for them and were not planning on anything to end it any time soon.
Atkinson recently hit out at those who were stoking the flames that she and her fiancé had cut ties. Taking to her Instagram, she shut down rumours the pair were over each other and added that she is beaming with love for her Gorka.

Talking about the rumours, Gemma slammed those believing the story, adding: “Yes we did see them stories; there was a few floating around weren’t there which is news to us. It is what it is, isn’t it – happens all the time doesn’t it. It’s not true.”
