Hairy Bikers star Si King has made it clear there will be no Hairy Bikers without his late presenting partner, Dave Myers.
57-year-old King, who was left heartbroken when Myers passed away from cancer in February, is still pondering what’s next for him.
However, he assured fans that the Hairy Bikers title they’ve come to love will not be carried on without Myers.

The Observer Magazine captured King’s sentiment perfectly when the chef explained: “It can’t be the Hairy Bikers 2.0. That’s not going to happen. It wouldn’t be respectful.”

As well as navigating the personal loss of his best friend, King expresses how the shared adventures and experiences cannot continue: “There’s obviously the sense of losing your best mate. But there’s also a sense of loss in that the experiences we had together can’t go on…” He emphatically adds: “There is no Hairy Bikers without Dave. Because it’s plural.”
Acknowledging his current predicament, King finds himself considering his own future an unfamiliar prospect for one used to working as part of a duo. Entertaining thoughts of what his career might look like moving forward does not come easy, as he discloses: “I need someone to play off. I’m good at unpacking people. I’m genuinely interested in people’s stories.”

Yet even contemplating a travelogue with another celebrity is currently unimaginable for him, admitting: “It’s virtually impossible to think about that sort of thing at the minute.”
While the future may appear uncertain, King does express a desire to carry on professionally and to keep the fanbase of the Hairy Bikers appreciative.

The creative expressed: “I don’t think as a creative person you ever stop being creative. How can you retire from yourself? Do I want to do more books? Yes, I do. Do I want to make more programmes? Yes, I do.”
He also added: “It would be incredibly churlish not to say thank you to our fanbase. I sincerely hope that whatever I do next they come with me and we start another journey together.”
