Harry Hill shares scary reason he never kisses his dogs – and fears being ‘super spreader’

Harry Hill has urged dog owners to stop kissing their four-legged friends on the lips for fear of starting another COVID pandemic.

The TV Burp star — who worked as a qualified medical doctor before becoming a comedian — refuses to smooch his pooches, Snowy and Wilson, as intimately as other owners because he’s worried about the doggy diseases they carry.

Harry is a firm believer that zoonotic transmission – where an illness is spread to humans from animals – caused the spread of COVID-19 in 2020 and he doesn’t want to see another virus get passed on to the human race.

Speaking on the ‘Oh My Dog!’ podcast, Harry explained that’s the main reason why he doesn’t kiss his hounds.

He said: “I don’t like all that, no. You know, you’ve got to have boundaries, I think. Also, I’m worried about—let’s just cast our minds back for a second—how the whole Covid pandemic started.

“It was about cross-species contamination. It started with a kiss. I never thought it would come to this. In the words of Hot Chocolate.

“But I think there is a risk. You might end up with some sort of canine cold sore. You don’t want to be the smoking gun, do you? You don’t want to be the super spreader.

“You don’t want to be the Wuhan wet market in the canine cold sore epidemic.”
