Hollywood icon Kiefer Sutherland has revealed that he heads straight to Greggs for a sausage roll as soon as his plane touches down in Britain.
The bakery chain has 2,500 bakeries around the UK, including at seven airports; Gatwick, Manchester, Leeds, East Mids, Newcastle, Liverpool and Brum.
Kiefer – best known for playing counterterrorist agent Jack Bauer in hit TV series 24 – said he couldn’t wait to get his hands on the meaty treat.
He said his band – called the Kiefer Sutherland Band, including Jess on drums, Joe on bass, and Doug and Austin both on guitar – were all equally as addicted to Greggs.

The dad-of-one, who also starred in Stand By Me, The Lost Boys and Flatliners, said he reckoned some of the band only came to the UK on tour so they could ‘get a Greggs’.
He said: “Greggs is popular with Yanks and Canadians (and) I like a sausage roll.
“My band is from the States and, when we (tour) here, the first stop they would make before we even got to the hotel would be a Greggs. I think some of them only did the tour because they knew they were going to get a Greggs.”
Speaking previously, he said some of his band like steak bakes, but he just wanted a sausage roll.
He said: “I have people in the band and crew who get all complicated with steak this and bacon that. Ugh! Sausage roll, easy, done, in and out.”
In 2020, Greggs – founded in Tynesdie in 1939 and which sells around 150m sausage rolls every year – launched a VIP Black Card to its most loyal customers – entitled them to free baked treats for life.
Among the holders include rapper Stormzy – the first to get one – who admits loving sausage rolls, Yum Yums, steak bakes and sausage, bean and cheese melts.
Singer Ed Sheeran also has a VIP Black card, with other fans including Lewis Capaldi and Hollywood star Jake Gyllenhaal.
