‘I tested Harry Styles’ new collaboration with Disney – it transformed me ready for the ball’

What do you get if you add a sprinkle of stardom and dollop of real life magic? Well, a Pleasing and Disney Fantasia collaboration of course.

That, right. Harry Styles’ beauty and clothing brand and the doe-eyed entertainment machine that is Disney have teamed together to create a collection that is truly a dream come true.

While the Pleasing x Disney range includes a variation of hoodies, joggers and totes, let’s focus on the nail offerings as I can tell you first hand (pardon the pun) what the verdict is.

As we transition into the bitter weather – meaning nailbeds ruined by central heating – it’s time to treat your talons well. And what better way to do that than try out one of the varnishes from the £65 set of four from the collection.

I didn’t paint my nails myself, I cannot be trusted. So good job there was a nail tech on hand at the special launch at the Disney Store on Oxford Street, where she could show me the true potential of Pleasing x Disney Fantasia.

Although the varnishes come in a set of four in some very cute Disney character decorated packaging, there are three sets to choose from – one particularly took my fancy from the Danza Delle Ore Set.

And that just so happened to be green. Green? Yes, green. We’ve just been through a whole Brat summer and I’m not ready to let go of my comfort colour.

While some might say green is an odd one to have on your nails, it’s always been a go-to for me (my choice pre-dates the newfound mainstream love of it).

Pleasing x Disney have certainly cooked up the right concoction. When I say ‘green’ nails you might think of some sort of swamp-like or bogey-esque colour, though that would be wrong.

According to the boffins of the world, green is considered a calming colour. So what better way to transition into the ‘doom’ month of October than having sage coloured nails mastered by a happy-hit maker and inspired by Disney’s very own Ben Ali Gator.

Ready for the ball!

After not too long and with only two coats, my nails had received the Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo treatment and were safe to go to the ball – or brunch.

And it looks like they’ll be good for the after party and the party after that (if Cinderella can handle it).

I’m writing this on day four and my nails have yet to chip! That’s despite scrubbing the dishes and having long autumnal soaks in the bath. Pleasing x Disney can be my guest in my beauty cupboard, and I should hope so at £65 for the set.

Once upon a time, lads painting their nails would, unfortunately, be a one-way ticket to teasing.

But, Pleasing is showing that colourful talons are for every identifier in the land near or far far away – and Disney have cemented that by adding their special touch of magic.
