Inside Jessica Simpson’s weight loss journey after gaining and losing 100lbs three times

Jessica Simpson has always been a stunner but in recent years she has embarked on a serious weight loss journey.

The 44-year-old blonde beauty has always been a head-turner but after her epic transformation, she has left fans awestruck by her ultra-slim physique. In 2022, she posted a teeny bikin snap and captioned it “proudly”.

She penned: “I have gained and lost 100 lbs 3x so I never thought this moment could or would happen, but I’m finally spring breakin’ wearin’ a BIKINI!!!! Hard work, determination, self love. I enjoyed a good proud cry today.”

Many fans will recognise the star from her role in the action-comedy Dukes of Hazzard, where she played the gorgeous blonde Daisy Duke. Over time, she felt far removed from being able to slip into the iconic Daisy Duke denim shorts, but she has regained the confidence in recent years to rock them again, looking as flawless as she did back in 2005.

Reportedly, Jessica managed to shed the baby weight in just six months after welcoming her third child and second daughter Birdie Mae into the world. She’s been open about her weight journey, revealing earlier this year that she’s in the “high two hundreds” but confesses to not knowing her exact weight as she’s ditched the scales.

This might be influenced by her trainer Harley Pasternak’s unique approach to shedding pounds. “I never work with scales,” Harley explained to People magazine.

He emphasised that his focus is on lifestyle habits rather than the scale, saying: “My work with her is more about the habits she’s created and kept up. And as a byproduct of doing these habits, she lost 100 pounds.”

Harley, who has been guiding the songstress for years, believes in holistic lifestyle changes for lasting results. He shared further insights: “The difference between this and the other times was that she worked out, yes, but her transformation was more about what she did on her own time.”

Reflecting on the challenges they faced, he said, “I’ve kind of helped her come back after each baby, and this is a bit different, in that she said she was tipping the scales at 240 [post-delivery]. This is sort of the aggregate of being pregnant nonstop for a decade, and so we had a little more of a challenge between this and the other ones.”

When it comes to diet, the celeb attributes her transformation partly to a calorie-controlled plan rich in eggs. Back in 2019, Harley broke down her dietary habits to Hollywood Life, revealing, “She would eat one whole egg and three egg whites for breakfast, scrambled with a bowl of blackberries.”

“For lunch, she would have a salad with grilled chicken and grilled fish with salad and vegetables for dinner. As for snacks, she would have almonds and sometimes green beans with Parmesan cheese on top.”

During the peak of her weight loss journey, Jessica was clocking up an impressive 14,000 steps daily and cherished family walks. She also smashed out 45-minute workout sessions three times a week, wowing her trainers in the process.

The steady yet effective fitness regime clearly worked wonders, as Jessica not only dropped the pounds but also got to spend quality time with her loved ones. Jessica’s personal trainer revealed that her weight loss success wasn’t just down to exercise and clean eating.

She was advised to “Unplug from technology” for at least one hour every day to ensure she wound down properly before hitting the sack. Another golden rule she followed was getting a minimum of seven hours of kip each night.

Her trainer Harley emphasised: “So many people undervalue the importance of sleep in weight loss and weight management. Every night before she goes to bed she sends an email showing that she hit all five tasks, so she’ll go to bed feeling successful.”
