ITV Corrie Dignitas twist ‘confirmed’ as fans ‘rumble’ Paul’s heartbreaking exit

Coronation Street fans are convinced they have worked out how Paul Foreman will end his life before his motor neuron disease progresses to its natural end.

Last year, the ITV fan-favourite revealed his plan to take matters into his own hands to his close friend Todd Grimshaw. Over the past few weeks, the newlywed has been planning his future which included ordering an electronic speech assistance program that can replicate key phrases once he loses the ability to speak.

Paul received the device on Wednesday (January 3) and tested it out with Billy, before his husband revealed some bad news about their plan to take a holiday. The Deacon found out that the travel insurance costs were extraordinarily high in Paul’s case, so they reluctantly agreed to cancel the getaway.

Gemma was devastated to hear her twin brother’s holiday wouldn’t go ahead, so she decided to bring the holiday to him as she treated him and David to a glass of sangria in the Rovers. The afternoon took a disastrous turn when a drunk Paul sent David home before he met up with Moses.

Determined to take back his independence, Paul made the unfortunate mistake of trying to walk to the loo unassisted. Billy immediately rushed to his frustrated husband to help him get cleaned up, only for Moses to turn up an hour late for their second meeting.

Later on, Paul confided in Todd that it was time to put his assisted dying plan into action. The emotional storyline is set to escalate in upcoming scenes as Paul receives some bad news from Todd about his plans.

But that wasn’t enough stop Paul from following through with his plan, instead turning to his other friend Abi Webster for support instead. Now, viewers are convinced that Paul plans to jet off to Dignitas in the heart of Switzerland where terminally ill patients can end their lives in peace.
