Emmerdale viewers have raised questions about scenes following Heath Hope’s death.
On New Year’s Eve, Cathy Hope (Gabrielle Dowling), Angelica King (Rebecca Bakes) and Heath (Sebastian Dowling) wanted to go to a party in Hotton but failed to find a lift. Taking matters into her own hands, Cathy stole the keys to Wendy’s car and took her twin brother and friend on a joy ride.
But disaster struck when the vehicle crashed into a wall as they raced to Hotton in time for midnight. While Cathy and Angelica escaped unharmed, Heath died from his injuries. During Thursday’s instalment (January 4) of the ITV soap, grieving dad Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) returned to lay flowers at the scene out of respect for his late son.

Cathy and Angelica, as well as April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) were all present as they sobbed over Heath’s death. It appeared they all walked to the crash scene, which turned out to be a few minutes away from the village.
This didn’t go unnoticed by viewers who shared their queries on social media. One wrote: “How can they walk to the scene of the crash, when them obnoxious kids were driving for ages #Emmerdale.”
A second asked: “How far away from the village were they that they can just easily walk there? #Emmerdale.” Another queried: “They were driving in the car for ages and yet the kids have all just walked there? #emmerdale.”
A fourth baffled fan added: “#emmerdale 10 miles in the car ! 2 mins to walk there ! Farcical.” Someone else wondered: “Did everyone walk to the crash scene??? Bob and Wendy drove for ages until they got there.”
Another chipped in: “So they walked to where the crash was. It took Bob & bendy Wendy ages driving out of the village to find em but the kids walk there. Come on.” Following Heath’s death, Cathy and Angelica were interviewed by police.
During her interview, Cathy admitted that she drove the car, however she wasn’t behind the wheel at the time of the accident, it was Angelica. The girls were pit against each other as Angelica denied the claims.
While fans were left divided over which teen caused the crash, others have another suspect. Some suggested Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) or Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) could have been responsible after the duo were attempting to steal a car at the time of the incident.
