This Morning presenters Rylan Clark and Josie Gibson admitted they’d both “marry” Carol Vorderman amid the former Countdown star’s ongoing misogyny row with House of Lords’ Shaun Bailey.
The duo were the latest pairing to take to the ITV show’s hotseat ahead of the arrival of Cat Deeley on a permanent basis later this year.
Discussing Carol’s spat with guest Nick Ferrari, the pair referred back to a tweet by Lord Bailey, in which he said of Carol: “Look, on one hand she’s got all that stuff, you know, she’s a serious political commentator, and then if you look at her Instagram it’s all pictures of her bum and her boobs. So what is it here? She can’t be both.”

His comment came after 63-year old Carol called out the Conservative Party on numerous occasions on her own account on the platform in recent months. Angered by his statement, Carol soon hit back: “Tory Shaun Bailey is a MISOGYNIST #SexistShaun – the Jingle & Mingle Partygate apologist”.
Speaking on Thursday’s instalment, Rylan introduced a clip from GB News that showed Lord Bailey doubling down on his stance, criticising Carol’s “all bum and boobs” Instagram profile – a stark contrast to her “political” agenda X (formerly Twitter) account.
Defending Carol, Rylan then asked: “Why can’t she be both? That would be my argument and that’s obviously Carol’s view.” After asking radio presenter Nick for his view, he agreed: “Of course she can be both. Just a reminder – Lord Bailey was the Conservative candidate running to be the mayor of London. He did a pretty good job, but he’s totally wrong here. That to me is a rather antediluvian view and not the way I feel.
“If Carol Vorderman wants to go around in just a bra and pants she’s perfectly entitled to do so. I wouldn’t want to see it the other way – I wouldn’t want to see Rishi Sunak in his Y-fronts, but to this point I think Shaun has got this the wrong way round.”
Joining in the debate, I’m A Celebrity star Jodie added: “Carol Vorderman – the first woman on Channel 4 – she’s articulate, she’s beautiful, she’s strong and it just so happens she’s incredibly sexy at the same time. And what is the problem with that?”

“None,” Rylan said defiantly. “I would marry Carol Vorderman.” Concurring, Josie revealed: “I would. I’d beat you for it.” Nick then joked: “Can I be best man? And I promise to get to the church on time.” Former X Factor Rylan closed the segment, adding: “Carol, we love you. You know we love you.”
This Morning airs every weekday at 10am on ITV1 and ITVX.
