Jay Blades ‘steps away’ from The Repair Shop with subtle clue after marriage split

The Repair Shop’s Jay Blades is reportedly taking some time out after his wife said their marriage had ended.

The presenter has been on the popular BBC show – which sees experts restoring people’s treasured possessions and heirlooms – for seven years. But The Sun reported that he was missing from filming just days after his wife Lisa penned an emotional message revealing their marriage was over and that she was “broken”.

And now it’s claimed that Jay appears to have removed a mention of The Repair Shop on social media. His Instagram and X accounts currently state: “Eco Designer, Social Enterpriser & BAFTA,RTS & NTA Awards Winning Presenter.” But The Sun says the blurb on his bios used to mention the TV show.

The TV star had recently told fans that he was taking a break from social media in the wake of the death of his uncle, who he said was murdered. He shared a video on Instagram explaining that he had been very affected by the loss and that he was feeling a bit “messed up”.

Jay, 54, told his followers: “I am coming off social media for a bit. I’ll be back in a bit. I’m going to go and get some therapy.” “When things happen, sometimes you really need to just take stock and relax,” he said.

“Take care of each other, take care of yourself. I’ll be back soon,” he ended the post.

The TV star had been married to his wife Lisa Marie Zbozen since 2022. The pair exchanged vows in a stunning ceremony in Barbados with just the people closest to them there to see them say “I do”.

However, Lisa recently shared an emotional statement saying that they had split and indicating that she was living elsewhere. “I don’t know how to say this because it’s still really raw,” she said.

“I probably should be really angry but I’m just incredibly sad about the whole thing right now. I don’t think I’ve ever cried so much. I will admit I’m crying as I type this as I can’t believe this is even real.”

Daily Star has contacted a representative for Jay for comment.
