Music icon Liam Gallagher nearly revealed Oasis were getting back together a month before the announcement was made.
The lead singer of Oasis teased followers with a hint last month in a mysterious tweet, saying there would be news that would “blow your minds”. But the Gallagher brother was “sworn to secrecy” at the time, meaning he could not tell fans Oasis were getting back together.
Oasis has since confirmed a UK and Ireland tour in 2025, with dates scheduled at Wembley and Heaton Park. But some may have known a month in advance when Liam let slip about “big things happening” on July 24, which came a whole month before the big reveal.

When quizzed by a fan on how he was feeling, our Liam was brimming with news: “There’s a few big things happening but I can’t tell you as there so big it’s gonna blow your minds and I’ve been sworn to secrecy sorry hope you understand.”
This left a few fans sniffing around for a whiff of reunion gossip. One bantered off: “If it’s a reunion can you do it next year as I’ve blown the dough on McCartney tickets? ” Another chirped in with a cheeky jibe: “You’re the boy who cried wolf we’ve had enough of this.”
But all Liam could offer was a playful “ha ha”. The Twitter/X spat was actually building up to a photoshoot with brother Noel Gallagher to drum up the hype for those Oasis 2025 tour dates. When probed further, Liam did let on he was headed to a “photo shoot,” though exactly what for was anyone’s guess at the time.
Oasis has officially announced a comeback with a string of UK and Ireland gigs, marking their first joint performance in over a decade. Fans have been taking the mickey, suggesting the band might call it quits again before they even hit the stage.
One fan wrote: “Oasis once said ‘please don’t put your life in the hands of a rock and roll band who’ll throw it all away’. I hope ya’ll adding that event insurance to your tickets.”
Another chimed in: “I like to imagine that they play one song, Noel and Liam have a massive fight when someone makes a mistake, and they both storm off, reunion over.”
