Liam Payne died ‘because of one taxi ride’ says X Factor star in bold tribute

The music world is reeling from the shock of One Direction star Liam Payne’s tragic death.

The singer, who soared to fame on X Factor, suffered a fatal fall from a hotel in Buenos Aires while on holiday with girlfriend Kate Cassidy.

He continued, detailing the grim outcome: “At 5.11pm an ambulance arrived and the man was certified dead. Afterwards we found out he had been a famous singer. Unfortunately the injuries he had suffered as a result of the fall proved to be fatal. There was no possibility of resuscitating him.”

Police reports suggest there may have been aggressive behaviour potentially linked to substance use at the scene.

As heartfelt tributes pour in across social media and X Factor’s official account released a memorial statement, Rebecca Ferguson, who appeared with Liam in the 2010 series of the show, has spoken out about the loss of her former showmate. Her haunting words underscore the sometimes exploitative side of fame: “It’s always a hotel room.”, reports the Mirror.

The 40-year-old singer lamented the loss while remembering her past interactions with the young performer. She revealed that she first met him at London Euston rail station, and they shared a taxi to the X Factor studio. Rebecca remembered Liam as ‘young, innocent and unaffected by fame’.

“I can’t help but think of that boy who was hopeful and looking forward to his bright future ahead,” she said. “If he hadn’t jumped on that train and jumped in that taxi I believe he would be alive today.

“I’ve spoken for years about the exploitation and profiteering of young stars and the effects. Many of us are still living with the aftermath and the PTSD [Post Traumatic Stress Disorder]. Many of us are devastated and reflective today as it has finally claimed its first victim.”

Rebecca concluded her statement by wishing Liam finds ‘peace on the other side’ and expressed her love to the star’s mum and family. The post attracted dozens of fans expressing their condolences, with many stating they were ‘heartbroken’ by the news.
