Liam Payne horrified fans with a balcony stunt a decade before he died after falling from a hotel room.
The One Direction star sadly died on 16 October after he fell from a third-floor balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentia while on holiday with his girlfriend. In light of his recent tragedy, a resurfaced image of Liam Payne has been unearthed.
Back in 2014, the singer took to X/Twitter to share an image of himself standing on a narrow corner of his East London apartment building. He appeared to be wearing a plaid shirt with black trousers as he posed for the daring snap.

Liam stood on the towering corner ledge high above the London skyline, lights and buildings clearly seen in the background as night fell over the city. At the time, Payne’s fans were clearly terrified and descended on social media to share their horror.
One person tagged the singer and wrote: “That photo of @Real_Liam_Payne on that balcony really gave me a mini heart attack…please don’t do that again!”
Another said: “@Real_Liam_Payne should stop thinking he’s Batman when he’s not…stop climbing on your balcony!” Due to the public outcry against Payne’s daredevil snap, the One Direction singer released an apology to his worried fans.
“You may have seen a photo of me today taken on top of a building. I regret being there and having a photo taken. It was a stupid and irresponsible thing to do. I am sorry and do not endorse any fans trying to repeat this as it is extremely dangerous.”
Argentinian emergency medical services director Alberto Crescenti has revealed that Liam suffered “very serious injuries after falling from a third floor into an internal courtyard” on 16 October.
After the news broke, tear-filled fans were spotted outside the hotel where Liam’s body was found. Many people gathered to pay their tributes and lit candles outside the property.
Stars and friends have all paid tribute to the One Direction icon, including The X Factor presenter Dermot O’Leary, who took to Instagram to say: “The worst news. I remember him as a 14-year-old turning up to audition on The X Factor and blowing us away singing Sinatra. He just loved to sing.”
