Liam Payne’s friend has denied being involved in his death as investigations continue.
The Strip That Down singer tragically fell to his death last month, sending shockwaves around the world as fans mourned the loss of the star. However, since then, police have stepped up their investigations and have now arrested three people in connection with his passing.
Argentinian officials have not confirmed who the three people “charged” with his death are, but one of Liam’s close pals has come out to deny any responsibility for his death. Good friend Rogelio Nores, known as Roger, confirmed he was not one of the three people to be detained.

Speaking to The Sun, Roger insisted: “I went to his hotel three times that day and left 40 minutes before this happened. I could have never imagined something like this would happen.”
Roger’s name had been connected to the police investigation as all lines of enquiry were being followed. However, despite authorities saying they had “charged” the suspects with responsibility for his passing, it is believed that the three are currently in police custody waiting to be charged formally.
Officers are said to be looking into Roger’s role in his death, after he fell 40ft from the third floor balcony of the luxurious CasaSur hotel in the Argentinian capital of Buenos Aires. Roger is said to be accused of “abandoning a person followed by death”.
He added: “I’ve given my statement to the prosecutor on October 17th as a witness. I haven’t spoken to any police officer or prosecutor ever since.
“I wasn’t Liam’s manager he was just my very dear friend and please refer to the email I sent to Liam and his team on August 23rd,” he added. “I’m really heart broken with this tragedy, and I’ve missed my friend every day.”
As well as this, investigators are reportedly looking into Roger for being complicit in supplying the For You star with drugs, which could result in a 15-year jail term if convicted. Two other hotel workers have also been arrested following the investigation for their role in the star’s drug supply.
According to authorities, the One Direction star had just been given the all clear on a drugs test as he prepared to renew his American residency visa. The test would have allowed him to continue living in the US, but according to sources, he was given drugs at the CasaSur hotel less than one hour after checking in.
It comes as Liam’s body has been repatriated to the UK three weeks after his sudden passing. His body had been held back by police as the results from a toxicology report – which would have looked at what drugs, if any, were in his system at the time of his death – were being processed.
