Gloria Hunniford’s husband has died at the age of 85.
The 84-year-old Loose Women star has confirmed the passing of her beloved partner Stephen Way, whom she’s been married to for over 20 years. The businessman died on Tuesday afternoon (August 13) after “heroically fighting his illness”.
A statement released by her family on Wednesday read: “It is with huge sadness and very heavy hearts that we share the passing of Stephen Way, Gloria’s beloved husband, who lost his battle yesterday afternoon.

“Stephen had been heroically fighting his illness… but always with great tenacity and a positive spirit”.
ITV presenter Gloria said Stephen’s passing would leave the “most enormous void” in her life in her own emotional tribute. She said: “Stephen was a gentleman and a giant of a man, who will leave the most enormous void not only in my life, but our entire family.
“He was an incredibly kind, generous, and caring man, with a delightfully quirky sense of humour, which remained till the end. We had a tremendously happy 25-year marriage and did so many beautiful and exciting things together that I will always cherish”.
Last year, Gloria revealed how her husband had been left partially blind in his right eye after suffering a second stroke. He suffered his first stroke back in 2012 and also had a heart attack in 2004.
Discussing the incident, Gloria had said: “He said something about the garden to me, he told me there was something the matter with his left arm and said it was like cotton wool and he had no control over it.”
Stephen also fractured the base of his spine in a taxi accident in 2019. Gloria praised the NHS for saving her husband’s life at the time.
Gloria and Stephen tied the knot back on September 5 1998 in Kent. They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary last September.
The presenter has two children with her first husband Don Keating, who died in 1997 – Paul and Michael. Stephen supported Gloria when her daughter Caron died of breast cancer in 2004.
