Ian Somerhalder, the star of Vampire Diaries, has expressed regret over his unprofessional behaviour on the set of Lost, where he often arrived late and complained about the food.
The 45-year-old actor, who shot to fame playing Boone in the popular mystery TV series back in 2004, confessed that he wasn’t always the most professional on set and wishes he could alter his past actions.
When quizzed about any career regrets, Ian revealed to PEOPLE: “I don’t think I would really change anything other than maybe with Lost.

“I maybe complained about craft service or something, showed up late twice, actually really late once. I was so tired from the night before, I slept through my alarms. That’s about as far as I can go.”
Ian has since taken a step back from Hollywood to concentrate on raising his children with wife Nikki Reed and managing their family farm, but he looks back on his time in Lost and Vampire Diaries with fondness.
He further told the publication: “Once you reach a certain level, you’re like, ‘Okay, I want to focus on family and the future of farming and food and energy and the big things.’ I don’t need to chase awards and anything that would make me feel better about myself.
“It feels like it [the height of his fame] was yesterday. But then also too, you realise this was sort of lifetimes ago. I feel such enormous gratitude for this piece of IP and the journey and the character and all the writing both from Lost and from Vampire Diaries.”
Ian, who has two children, seven-year-old Bodhi and a one-year-old son, has devoted his life to raising his family and working as an environmental campaigner. He told E! News: “I stepped away from acting a little over four years ago to raise my kids, build my companies and get these films launched.”
