Love Island fans say Joey Essex ‘ruined career’ after ‘showing true colours’ in brutal showdown

Love Island fans reckon Joey Essex has “ruined his career”.

The reality television legend – who at this point has been on practically every show going – was dumped from the villa with Jessy Potts on Sunday’s episode (July 28). The decision was made by former islanders, who returned to dish out some brutal comments.

But after Joey clashed with Reuben Collins, branding him “jealous”, fans reckon they’ve seen the TOWIE icon’s “true colours”. And some even went as far as saying Joey will have to work hard to save his career.

Speaking on Reddit, one fan wrote: “His act slipped with how he spoke to Reuben, was so bad!” Another added: “He really showed his true colours in that moment.”

A third wrote: “He was disgusting to Reuben.” As someone else brought up Joey “lying” to Samantha Kenny, when he told her they’d only been in a friendship couple – which was something she clearly wasn’t aware of.

They said: “It was game over for him.”

Then, on X, fans slammed Joey, with one saying: “Joey Essex has just ruined his career.” Another wrote: “Joey is gonna have to do some serious grafting if he’s gonna save his career!”

Someone else said: “Joey Essex going on Love Island was the biggest career mistake he’s ever made, he should have stuck to the other 3million reality shows he’s done.”

Another wrote: “And this is the end of Joey Essex because he’s ruined his career.” While someone else wrote: “I feel like we may be watching the end of Joey Essex’s TV career.”

Joey burst into stardom in 2011 on The Only Way Is Essex. Since then he’s been on almost every reality show going, including Splash!, I’m A Celebrity, The Jump, Celebrity Ex On The Beach, Dancing On Ice, and even the Australian version of I’m A Celebrity.

He was also on two series of Celebs Go Dating, as well as having a number of his own shows, like Educating Joey Essex.

Love Island concludes Monday night (July 29) at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX
