Love Island icon eyes up huge TV return but admits she feels ‘far removed’ from it

Love Island star Olivia Bowen has her eye on BBC’s MasterChef as she discussed a potential reality TV return.

The 30-year-old is best known to fans for appearing in the second series of the hit dating show, coming a respectable second place on Love Island with her partner Alex. Fast forward eight years later, Olivia and Alex are still going strong, with the pair tying the knot in 2018 and welcoming their first child together in 2022.

Although the stars appeared in their very own reality show after their Love Island stint, Olivia has revealed that she hasn’t considered jumping back on the box – but would for a specific show. When asked if she would consider getting back into TV, she told Daily Star: “I don’t know. I feel so far removed sometimes because we live in the sticks.

“I think if we lived in London it would be different. I don’t know, I feel very removed from it.”

However, Olivia did hint at something she would be interested in and said: “But if the right thing came up, like I absolutely love watching MasterChef, it’s my favourite. So if they ever call in, I’d have to say yes.”

She added: “I watched it so much when I was pregnant, I watched it for hours and hours. It’s like my guilty pleasure, but it does look scary though, the pressure would get to me I reckon.”

Olivia was also asked about body confidence after having her first son, Abel. She said: “Body confidence I think is such an up and down thing. I think after Abel I really really struggled.

“I think because I was quite confident in my body beforehand, I think having a baby I just sometimes don’t recognise myself. Like me and Alex have had lots of chats about it and I try and tell myself ‘I’m so proud of my body’.

“But you know we’re all human and we struggle from time to time. I just think the society that I grew up in, like the 2000s it was all about being skinny.

“If you look back at some of the shows that were on and things that were said in magazines it was just crazy how they treated women’s bodies and I think that’s always gonna be in the back of mind. But for me I just try and put that positive foot forward on Instagram and things.

“I don’t want to make anyone else feel like that. I want people to try and be happy and confident, but yeah, it’s difficult sometimes for any woman.”
