A new series of Love Island is just hours away from kicking off, as fans gear up for another summer of love.
12 new contestants are set to jet their way into and host Maya Jama will also get to introduce the lucky singletons in Monday’s show (June 3), as the show’s eleventh season gets underway.
As the programme gets ready to premiere on ITV2 later tonight, producer Mike Spencer has said that bosses are willing that the couples will make it to end and beyond. It comes as more twists and turns are expected in the programme, which are guaranteed to keep viewers interested in what might happen to this year’s hopefuls.

The villa has been completely renovated for the new series of the show, and is filled with extra features that will keep the Islanders on their toes. The luxury pad will have extra beds as well a slew of opportunities for couples to sneak away for some much needed romping.
According to Spencer, this year’s show is actually beneficial for the public, and is urging as many people as possible to get in on the action early on. He jokingly said that the show will be doing a service to the UK public if more couples get raunchy this year.
“Love Island should demonstrate what a relationship is like and what dating is like,” Mike explained. “We’ve got an audience of young people so I think it is an education.”
He added that the show is a great way of showing that people are fallible and can be forgiven for their mistakes. “It’s seriously important for people to watch the show and know people aren’t perfect — none of us are,” he added.
In the first few series of the show, Islanders looking to get their rocks off had no qualms about getting down and dirty on national television. However, as the show has gone on, more and more contestants have shied away of going the whole distance, for fear of embarrassing themselves.
A huge change in this year’s format is that the Hideaway – a private room that couples can use for some intimacy – will be open 24/7 to any of the new couples. This also goes for single Islanders, who want to use the Hideaway themselves, even if they’re not in a formal couple.
Producers are hoping to bring back a sexually liberated Love Island, like those of the first few seasons of the reality titan. “We’re up for anything — we’re up for changes; the idea is that it’s going to be organic and natural.”
The new series of Love Island kicks off tonight, Monday June 3 at 9pm onITV1, ITV2 and ITVX
