One of the UK’s biggest festivals is to end early due to England’s Euro 2024 clash.
Wireless Festival has been thrown into chaos with just hours to go before the first act takes to the stage. Bosses at the event have decided to pull the plug at the end of the festivities, as England gears up to take on Spain in the final of Euro 2024.
The annual music event, which takes place in London’s Finsbury Park, brings in thousands of revellers looking to enjoy some top-notch tunes. However, as festivalgoers make their way to the capital, a statement released by organisers has told fans they will not be getting to stay as long on Sunday (July 14).

Later in the day on Thursday (July 11), a post shared by the event itself confirmed that the show would be coming to an end at 7pm on Sunday evening. They said: “Rockstar energy presents Wireless will now finish at 7pm on Sunday, July 14th, to give you plenty of time to travel home to watch the Euro final England Vs Spain match.
“The festival is going ahead as planned on Sunday and Doja Cat will perform a full headline set,” they added. It came just hours after the organisers revealed four of the acts set to perform had dropped out.
In a post released on their social media platforms, the three-day gig said: “Flo Milli and Veeze will no longer be performing tomorrow. Tyla and Digga D will no longer be performing on Sunday.”
Some heavy hitters in the music industry have been billed to be headlining the show, including Say So singer Doja Cat, as well as rapper and singer Nicki Minaj. However, some festivalgoers were not happy to hear about the switch-up in end times.
Taking to the comments section of the post, one livid fan wrote: “I’m sorry but ending a festival at 7pm is ludicrous.” A second added: “Are you going to be giving everyone their money back then? Sorry but can somebody start a petition for getting or money back for Sunday?”
Whilst a third user furiously typed: “The audacity! We travelling all the way from The Netherlands, just so you can watch the game? Really?”
Digga D, one of the acts that cancelled their set for the festival, offered their own statement when the news dropped. He added that it was due to being held in police custody whilst the verdict from a judge comes back on charges on the importation and supply of cannabis.
The rapper plead guilty to the charges, which dated between October 2022 and February this year. However, a formal hearing will be heard at Lincoln Crown Court later this month to hear whether his legal woes will continue further.
