Megan Barton Hanson defends racy sites and fumes ‘it’s only an issue because women profit’

Megan Barton Hanson has ramped up the argument of OnlyFans models keeping their accounts while working in TV – defending axed soap star Sarah Jane Dunn.

Back in 2018, the stunning online model headed into Love Island and was asked to delete her racy content on the adult site, with producers claiming the dating programme was a “family show”. It left Megan facing a difficult choice.

Hollyoaks legend Sarah was fired from Hollyoaks after she refused to stop sharing sexy content on her OnlyFans account. The star who played her alter-ego Mandy Richardson since 1996 was forced to give up her £120,000 a year job, following a dispute with bosses over her X-rated content on the adult site.

But it seems the tides are starting to turn, with TV bosses seemingly being more accepting of those who choose to have spicy profiles alongside TV careers – with the likes of Hannah Elizabeth now being able to keep her account running while appearing on this years All Stars series.

But getting to this stage has been a very steep uphill battle for Megan and her model friends such as Hollyoaks legend Sarah. Weighing in on the issue, Megan told Daily Star: “We’re making baby steps in the right direction.”

Getting behind her OnlyFans pal Sarah, she added: “That blew my mind with the whole Hollyoaks thing. Because do you remember back in the day they had the whole Hollyoaks calendars of the male cast and the women cast? Basically, exactly the same, except she was making money purely for her gain rather than sharing it with Hollyoaks.”

It is estimated that Megan is taking home a whopping £800k a month in subscription fees from the adult site, with the reality star explaining to us: “So if it’s on a calendar and they’re profiting [it’s ok] but if she takes it to OnlyFans and keeps all of the profit then that’s an issue. And I think that’s really what the issue is.

“It’s not women being sexual, whether it’s Love Island, music videos, films or whatever. Women have always been sexualised and that’s not the issue, it’s when we take the power back and start making money.”

Megan also told us that she feels Love Island has also got a lot of explaining to do when it comes down to it’s own racy content, with the star claiming the hit dating show to be just as explicit with it’s own challenges.

In fact, the online content creator even went as far as to compare her own adult site to the programme. Throwing the “heart rate” challenge into the mix, Megan explained that in her view this game had been far more racy at times that her topless pics.

“I feel like some of the challenges, like the heart rate challenge on Love Island, where they go down the row and kiss each individual contestant. I think that’s more explicit than what we’re doing posing in a bikini online,” said Megan.
