Melania Trump’s former roommate confirmed for Eurovision Song Contest attempt

Melania Trump’s former roommate has been announced as a potential candidate for the Eurovision Song Contest.

Victoria Silvstedt, 50, is best known for her time as a model, starring in some of the world’s most elusive magazines during their heyday. This includes Playboy, which often saw Victoria dressed in scantily-clad clothes as she showed off her assets for readers.

However, the star has now confirmed she will be attempting to represent her home nation of Sweden in this year’s Contest. If she is successful, she will be flying the flag for Sweden at next year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Switzerland.

Victoria will try her luck by competing in Sweden’s national selection for Eurovision, Melodifestivalen. The mammoth show spans over six weeks and runs across the country, with 30 acts all battling out to be crowned the winner.

Melodifestivalen is one of the most popular shows in Sweden, regularly bringing in up to 4million viewers per show in February and March. Victoria’s track Love It! – produced by Thomas G:son, the man behind Eurovision hit Euphoria – will compete in the final semi-final on March 1.

Taking to her Instagram account to share in the happy news, Victoria beamed: “What a dream come true. I don’t really understand yet that I’m going to participate in Melodifestivalen.

“It’s going to be so much fun… but a lot of time and sweat should be put into making it good,” she added. “I Love it! See you in Jönköping on March 1.”

Victoria has lived a lavish lifestyle ever since she was born, having been born into a family of five. At a young age, Victoria fell in love with hitting the catwalk, with her career hitting its pinnacle in 1993, when she was chosen to represent Sweden at the Miss World pageant.

Her talents were soon spotted by one Hugh Hefner shortly after and he offered her the chance to become a Playboy bunny, an opportunity she could not refuse. She also has gone to model for the likes of other high fashion brands including Dior and Chanel.

“Clean, neat, domestic and I think I couldn’t ask for a better roommate actually,” she gleamed. She also explained that Melania idolised acting icon Sophia Loren during this time, adding: “Obviously, that was her style icon.”
