Jackson was pronounced dead on June 25, 2009, at the tender age of 50, with his official cause of death being cardiac arrest. His heart failed due to a lethal mix of sedatives given by his doctor Conrad Murray, with acute propofol intoxication listed as a contributing factor.
He had overdosed on propofol and benzodiazepines. Paramedics arrived just three minutes after an ambulance was called, but found him not breathing and were unable to resuscitate him.

Involuntary manslaughter
After MJ’s death, it was discovered that his personal physician Conrad Murray had administered propofol, lorazepam and midazolam. Michael’s death was attributed to an overdose of these medications.
His death was eventually ruled a homicide and Murray was charged with involuntary manslaughter in February 2010, and found guilty. He was sentenced to four years in prison, but was released on parole in October 2013.
Rotting wig
Grim details from Michael Jackson’s autopsy have surfaced, exposing the King of Pop’s scalp was essentially bare beneath his wig, tied only to some sparse threads. Coppers described his natural hair as “sparse and connected to a wig”, revealing MJ was coping with “frontal balding”, hence the glued-on hairpiece.
The underneath scene was a stark contrast the star sported just patches of “peach fuzz” along with noticeable scars. A source spilled to The Sun back in the day: “He was skin and bone, his hair had fallen out, and he had been eating nothing but pills when he died.”
Tragic wig tales date back to ’84 when Jackson’s locks caught aflame during a Pepsi commercial shoot. Dancing amidst pyrotechnics on a stairway, an ill-timed explosion set the gel in his hair alight, inflicting second and third degree burns.
Tattoos
Tattoos were also a part of Jacko’s secretive personal canvas confirmed suffering from skin pigmentation condition vitiligo, it whitewashed patches across his chest, face, arms, and belly. He wasn’t just battling blotchy skin; the singer’s lips were inked pink while his eyebrows received a dose of black tattooing.
To mesh with his hairline, even the front part of his scalp got a darkened touch-up.
Skeletal frame
The King of Pop, Michael Jackson, weighed a frail 8st 10lbs when he died, with his stomach containing nothing but partially dissolved pills – the result of surviving on just one meagre meal a day. His body was littered with needle marks from painkiller injections, and signs of plastic surgery hinted at years of health struggles.
Mysterious bruises and cuts were found on his knees and shins, suggesting a recent tumble, while near his deathbed, cops discovered a sealed bottle of urine, catheters, needles, and an oxygen tank painting a grim picture of his final days.
A constant bandage on his nose and cracked ribs from desperate CPR attempts were among the other harrowing discoveries.
Enlarged prostate
Jackson’s autopsy revealed more than just his battle with incontinence, as evidenced by the condom catheter fitted at his demise; it also noted a “moderately enlarged” prostate.
Further medical interventions included a neck catheter and a balloon pump in his artery to fight a heart condition. The report concluded that his testes were “in the scrotum and are unremarkable and without trauma”.
