One of CBBC’s much-loved ex-presenters has flexed his six pack as he flaunts his fifties physique.
Steve Backshall, 51, shot to fame in the mid-2000s for his adventure and nature show Deadly 60. In the show, explorer Steve would travel all over the world looking for some of the most dangerous creatures in the world, while viewers learned more about the animal kingdom.
However, fans of the naturalist regularly found themselves hot under the collar as he would often strip off to get up close and personal with the animals. This would mean flaunting his shredded body, leaving viewers swooning.

Now, the TV personality has shared a slew of snaps to his social media profile which showed that he is still keeping himself in shape. In the reel, which featured a slide show of pics, Steve was seen showing his flexibility as he wrapped himself in ropes and curtains, keeping himself off the ground.
Backshall’s muscles were on full show as he ditched his top for the snaps for exercise mag Men’s Fitness, flexing his arms and showing off his six-pack. Taking to the caption, however, Steve was quick to point out that maintaining the look is easier said than done.
“I’m not going to sugar coat it – keeping fit in your fifties is brutal,” the BBC star admitted. “Everything hurts, recovery is slow, and lapses lead to rapid slumps that are ever harder to get out of.
“The only solution is to train in ways people have been doing for millennia. Yoga, stretching, bodyweight exercise, callisthenics and loads of veggies and water. Treat your rig like a vintage car that needs constant care and maintenance. And if you only have ten mins free in a day, then use it!!!”
Fans of the star were quick to flood the comments section with message of love and support, and others were left flustered as the star got his kit off. One fan hilariously quipped: “He’s going to be deadly in his sixties.”
A second user added: “I need to make sure my mum doesn’t see this! The whole time at Longleat [Estate, where Steve runs workshops], I was trying to get photos and she was in my ear saying, ‘He’s quite nice’ and things like that – emotional scarring!”
A third penned: “Just found out one of my childhood heroes is built like a Greek god.” Whilst a fourth fan wrote: “I’ve just found the deadliest creature, it’s Steve himself.”
Steve continues to come face to face with deadly animals on a regular basis all for the sake of TV. Earlier this year, Channel 5 aired Killer Crocs, a series where Steve was seen getting up close and personal with crocodiles and alligators to learn more about them and how important they are to the eco-system.
