One star of My 600lb Life looks completely unrecognisable after dropping more than 400 pounds.
Amber Rachdi weighed in at 660lbs when she first appeared on the TLC reality show in 2015, and relied on her family and boyfriend to complete simple tasks for her. She confessed she was frightened of dying young if she didn’t lose weight, and sought the help of Dr Nowzaradan to get fit enough for gastric surgery.
Now Amber looks completely unrecognisable, and shared a slimmed down snap with her Instagram followers this week to show off her teeny waist in a clinging black gown. Slipping into a checked cardigan and a plunging wraparound dress, Amber held up her phone to snap a mirror selfie.

She’s now sporting cropped brunette locks and a piercing in her upper lip, and looked incredible as she posed with one hand on her hip – determined to clear up some misconceptions in her post. She told fans: “This isn’t a glamour shot. No editing, no false eyelashes, just me existing as a corporeal being.
“t’s come to my attention that there’s a weird rumour making the rounds on TikTok that I stopped posting on IG because I gained weight and am in hiding.
“In truth, I’m just tired, working a lot, have gotten older, don’t feel attractive, and I’m mentally focused on other things. I did start a semaglutide injection, despite my conflicted feelings on the topic, and I lost a fair amount of weight. Isn’t doing anything to make me feel better about myself, save for the sudden reappearance of my ability to do pushups. That’s pretty cool, [not gonna lie].
“It’s been 10 years. I’ve never made a dime as an influencer, I work in IT, and times are hard for everybody. Forgive my absences, most days I am just too tired to even think about ‘being a public figure.’
“Let me rest. And also, as a human, I am indeed allowed to gain and lose weight in peace. Weird thing to gossip about, y’all. But please, talk all the sh** you want about my haircut, I was Velma for Halloween and like a fool, I cut my real hair,” she concluded.
Fans soon flocked to the comments section to praise Amber’s honesty, with one writing: “People got to realise just because someone doesn’t feel the need to post all the time that doesn’t mean something is wrong. People have lives outside of social media. Btw you’re beautiful!”

Another echoed: “I think you look great, and glad you are a normal average person!” While a third fan said: “I personally feel for the ones passing on and feeding into said rumours. Clearly they are the ones that have an issue. Its a sad space for those that seek validation from social media. And I think your hair looks good but thats just my little old opinion.”
Amber previously called her TLC experience “very disorganised and jarring”, claiming: “They ran late, reshot difficult to replicate scenes, and really sort of acted like bullies.”
