N-Dubz legend Tulisa ‘in talks’ to join I’m A Celeb line-up in career comeback

Tulisa Contostavlos is reportedly “in talks” to sign up for this year’s I’m A Celeb.

The N-Dubz rapper and singer has been shying away from the limelight on screen, as she marks 10 years since her stint on The X Factor. Acting as a judge for two seasons, the Young singer helped launch the careers of Little Mix, Ella Henderson and Lucy Spraggan.

Since her time on the show, Tulisa has stayed away from television, instead focusing on her solo music career and a new album with her pals at N-Dubz. Now, it appears the star is eyeing up a huge career comeback by heading into the jungle.

After their sell-out tour last year, Tulisa has found herself at a loose end and ITV producers are keen to sign her up. This would be the second member of the grime band to make their way onto reality TV, after co-star Dappy finished as a runner-up during Celebrity Big Brother in early 2013.

Producers are said to be thrilled that Tulisa is looking at heading Down Under for the show, hosted by regular Geordie faves Ant and Dec, and the show is hoping to relaunch her career and make her a household name once again. Speaking to The Sun, a source said that the channel is ecstatic to land the rapper.

“Tulisa has been on ITV’s hit list for a while but until now she’s never wanted to consider it,” the insider said. “This year is a decade since she left The X Factor so she felt the time was right to return to the TV spotlight — the amazing reception to the N-Dubz reunion tour really helped build her confidence.”

The source also added that thanks to the numerous projects she has done over the years, booking Tulisa would help to appeal to ITV’s wide demographics – ensuring she could go far in the competition. In addition, a new generation of fans have been won over thanks to their reunion tour, meaning many will be desperate for more Tulisa.

“TV bosses are particularly excited by the new wealth of fans in the crucial 16 to 24 age range who have discovered Tulisa and the band through TikTok and everyone hopes the deal is signed soon,” the insider concluded. It comes after Tulisa recently celebrated over a decade and a half of fame after launching her career back in 2008.

Bursting onto the scene as part of N-Dubz with Dappy and Fazer, Tulisa shot to fame with huge success – including 1.3million album sales, and thirteen UK Top 40 tracks. The band called time on things in 2011, embarking on solo careers, which saw Tulisa land a huge role on The X Factor with Louis Walsh, Kelly Rowland and Gary Barlow.

Her time on the show was controversial, however, after he called out contestants on false allegations of bullying behind the scenes. She also launched a tirade against co-judge Gary Barlow after he hit out at her “fag ash breath” live on TV, sparking a feud between the two.
