Netflix streamers have slated one of the platform’s most popular – and steamiest – series.
Over in the Netflix Bangers group on Facebook, someone asked members to tell them a series that they thought “was excellent at first but later became unwatchable”. Someone wrote: “You, Riverdale,” while another streamer typed: “Empire and You,” as a third chimed in: “You, that last series was ridiculous, unwatchable, enjoyed all the others.”
A third member said: “You, 13 Reasons Why,” as Netflix fans bickered over one comment. Someone wrote You and a reply read: “Nope I disagree,” while others added their thoughts underneath.

Many, many more comments mentioned You as their “unwatchable” series of choice as two group member explained: “You! I loved that show, then after season 3 it lost me,” and “You…couldn’t get past the first episode of the last season.”
You is a thriller series released back in 2018 and stars a number of big names, including Gossip Girl’s Penn Badgley, Victoria Pedretti, Jenna Ortega and Shay Mitchell. The Netflix description reads: “A dangerously charming, intensely obsessive young man goes to extreme measures to insert himself into the lives of those he is transfixed by.”
The psychological thriller is based on a series of books by Caroline Kepnes, which were later developed into the Netflix show by Greg Berlanti and Sera Gamble. The plot follows Joe, played by Badgley, who is a bookstore manager and unsuspecting serial killer.
He has obsessive issues particularly sparked any time he falls in love. You has a four season run released between 2018 and 2023.
It has reportedly been renewed for a fifth season, which is said to be the show’s final. Netflix tweeted: “Joe Goldberg will return for the fifth and final season of YOU in 2024,” although the actual release date has yet to be announced.
According to reports, production for Joe’s final chapter is already underway in New York City after Penn tweeted a picture of himself “back where it all began”. The snap showed him walking the streets as he announced that the final season is “now in production”.
