Netflix fans ‘hooked for weeks’ on ‘crazy’ series they ‘can’t stop rewinding’

Netflix fans are gobsmacked over one seriously strange series.

In the Netflix Bangers group on Facebook, one person typed: “Desperate Lies on Netflix…worth a watch,” as more members shared their opinions in the comments below. One person said: “Good series, loved it [red heart emoji].”

“This [series] had me hooked for a week…I hope there is another season coming soon,” typed another Netflix fan as someone else wrote: “Great [series], can’t stop watching each episode.”

Others said that they “binged until the end,” that it was “one of their favourites” and that Desperate Lies is “amazing”. “The ending is crazy,” gushed one Netflix user as another streamer added: “It’s a nail biting experience [tick emojis].”

The main character becomes pregnant with both men

Desperate Lies is a drama series that was released earlier this year and runs for just one season. The show stars Julia Paes, Paloma Duarte, Vladimir Brichta and Joāo Vitti.

The official Netflix description reads: “Due to a rare phenomenon, a woman finds herself pregnant with twins by two men. Over time, she strives to keep her family united and her secrets hidden.”

The Brazilian show is called Pedaço de Mim in Portuguese, meaning Piece of Me, and runs for 17 episodes. On Wikipedia, a plot summary of the series explains that the main character Liana “leaves her husband Tomás after finding out he had an affair with a friend”.

On a night out, Liana is drugged by Oscar “who subsequently sexually assaults her”. She later realises she is pregnant and tries to find out who the father is.

The complicated storyline had Netflix users baffled

However, Liana discovers that she is pregnant with two children with DNA from two different men. Elsewhere in Netflix news, another show with a crazy storyline has had streamers with their jaws on the floor.

In the same Facebook group, someone posted about The OA and said that the series was an “oldie but goodie”. Down in the comments, a member of the group branded the plotline an “acid trip” that left them “so confused”.

Others said that the show gave them “too many unanswered questions” and that the story “gets weird” during the second season.
