The National Television Awards once suffered a horrendous streaking nightmare live on-air.
Every year, British TV stars gather in London for a spectacle of lights, music and celebration. From recognising the best TV presenters, to commending harrowing documentaries, the NTAs are some of the most well-respected awards for television in the country.
But in 2004, things took a chaotic turn after a streaker stormed the stage of the show, leaving presenter Sharon Osbourne aghast. The incident left viewers at home stunned and ITV was forced to apologise for the mishap.

During the ceremony in 2004, veteran newsreader Sir Trevor McDonald presented the tenth edition of the awards show, held in the iconic Royal Albert Hall in central London. As part of the show, a number of well-known stars were brought out to present the night’s accolades.
Among these were Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne, who had found fame once again following the roaring success of their reality show Meet the Osbournes. Sharon’s own career also took off at this time as she appeared in the new talent show The X Factor.
But as they delivered some pre-scripted banter between themselves, the loving husband and wife were interrupted by reality TV star Warren Hudson. The contestant had stormed past security and burst onto the stage wearing nothing but a G-string.
Clearly taken aback at what they had just witnessed, Sharon was left gawking as Warren made his way across the stage before being bundled off by security. As he made his way offstage, Sharon became excited at the chaos of the incident and demanded that he come back.
“I want that willy, bring back that willy man,” Sharon pleaded as the streaker boy was whisked away by security personnel. Ozzy, also bemused by what just happened, seized the opportunity for a bit of humour, chiming in: “You liked that, didn’t you?”
The show carried on as normal for the remainder of the evening, but a manhandled Warren spoke of his experience trespassing the stage after the show. “I waited for Ozzy and Sharon to come on because they are my favourites,” he explained.
“Before anyone could do anything I ripped off my trousers, which were fastened with Velcro, and jumped on stage,” he added. “The adrenaline was buzzing and I had no time for nerves; when I got on stage Ozzy and Sharon looked surprised – then she screamed.”
Warren decided to streak on the stage out of protest for a Living TV show he had been part of. The Pop Idol-style show, called Strip Search, was on the hunt for top strippers, but Warren claimed the show cheated him and other contestants out of a big money contract in Las Vegas, after the winners’ tour was cancelled.
This year’s show is hoping not to have any unexpected mishaps such as Warren’s nude antics. The awards ceremony is being held in the O2 Arena once again, with Joel Dommett leading proceedings for the fourth year running.
The National Television Awards will air at 8pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
