A business with 200 stores around the UK has sold out of parka jackets after Oasis fans went ‘mad for it’.
Bosses at bargain retailer The Original Factory Shop (TOFS) said that as soon as Oasis announced they were getting back together parkas ‘flew off the shelves’.
On August 17, Liam and Noel Gallagher announced a 17-date UK and Ireland tour for next year. Within just three weeks of the announcement all parka jackets – a favourite of singer Liam Gallagher – had sold out in all 200 TOFS stores.

It is the firm’s 9th best seller ever, selling tens of thousands in just 21 days. An estimated 1.4 million fans will attend the gigs, which kick off on July 4 with two concerts in Cardiff, five shows in Manchester, seven in London, three in Edinburgh, and two in Dublin.
Sales figures from the store giant found that in the three weeks between August 17 – when Oasis announced the tour – and September 17, all parkas had been snapped up.
A spokesman for TOFS said it had also seen sales of Adidas Samba trainers – another favourite of Liam – rocket by 54% in the same time period, and that it had also sold out of bucket hats.
He said: “Demand for Liam Gallagher mod-style parka jackets have led to a sell-out at The Original Factory Shop’s stores. It took just three weeks since Oasis announced their UK tour dates for the Liam Gallagher’s favourite coat to sell out in our stores.
“Oasis fans are definitely recreating the swaggering look of Liam Gallagher in his signature trainers and parka.”
Oasis fan Pete Greaves, 51, of Rickmansworth, Herts, said he had dug out his old parka – but that his son, 17, wanted a new one.
He said: “I’ve got my parka from the mid-1990s and it still fits, but my son turned his nose up at and got his own. I managed to get tickets for Oasis at Wembley, so we’ll probably be standing about looking like clones of Liam along with the rest of the stadium.
“I know I’ll look like a complete twit, but that’s half the fun.”
TOFS chiefs have put in a bulk order for more of the Lyle and Scott parkas, which it sold for £50.
