Noel and Liam Gallagher reportedly won’t be paid for the Oasis reunion tour until they perform – in case they break up.
The once-warring brothers are set to earn millions from the highly-anticipated reunion tour in 2025, which will take them to stadiums across the UK and Ireland and now America, Canada and Mexico. But it’s claimed the siblings won’t earn a penny until they perform, so that they don’t fight and break up the band again.
It’s claimed gig promoters have drawn up contracts stating Noel and Liam won’t get paid until the tour kicks off, and people behind the scenes are “relying” on the pair to stay on good terms. A source told The Sun: “There were no upfront earnings because, ultimately, if they fall out, it would leave everyone in limbo.

“It’s a common arrangement but because of Noel and Liam’s fiery relationship it seems even more necessary. They have to perform to be paid. It’s simple and hopefully an effective way to make sure they can tolerate each other for the length of the shows.”
Oasis broke up just moments before their gig in Paris in 2009 as Noel and Liam got into a furious row. They have since reunited and “the guns have fallen silent”, revealed the band when announcing their tour.
Noel and Liam are expected to earn over £50million each from the first 14 dates of their reunion tour and pocket almost £3million each for each of their 33 stadium gigs. Tickets for the UK and Ireland gigs sold out within minutes, with many fans waiting for hours in virtual queues on ticket sites like Ticketmaster.
Gaby Cartwright, Head of Partnerships at Live Music Industry Venues and Entertainment, said: “It would be stipulated that no money will be put into the hands of the artists until we know they are actually going to turn up on stage, because they fall out all the time.
“There are so many people’s money at stake. The artists’ agents, the promoters, the crew, the band, the PRs, the label, the management. It is all in everyone’s best interest that this tour goes ahead.”
It comes after reports fans who forked out huge sums on resale tickets for the gigs won’t be let into the venues. Fans have been warned that resold tickets are worthless as concert promoters promised a clampdown on touts cashing in on the huge demand for the 2025 tour.
Ticketing expert Reg Walker said: “What normally happens is that ticket companies have specialist fraud-prevention software in place to identify criminality. And they also have software to identify the digital fingerprint that bots and the aggressive software used by touts leaves behind.”
Live Nation, the US giant that owns Ticketmaster, and SJM Concerts, the tour promoters, said: “Ticket agents Ticketmaster and See Tickets will start the process of cancelling tickets that are believed to have broken the terms and conditions for the tour in the coming weeks.
“These were put in place to take action against secondary ticketing companies reselling tickets for huge profit.”
