READ MORE: Oscars winner Emma Stone shouts ‘my dress is broken’ as she suffers wardrobe blunder

The Academy Awards ceremony was broadcast on ITV on Sunday night (March 10) and fans tuned in to watch the biggest awards show of the season. However, if you wanted to watch, you’d have needed to be awake way into the early hours of the morning.

So if you didn’t feel like you had the time – or energy – to spare, then we’ve pulled together some of the most unmissable bits from last night’s ceremony…

John Cena streaking

John Cena strutting across The Oscars stage totally starkers wasn’t on anyone’s 2024 bingo cards.

The wrestler paraded his muscles across the stage during a skit with host Jimmy Kimmel. He covered his manhood with a card and walked across the stage with absolutely no shame.

His fellow A-listers were floored with Barbie co-star Margot Robbie gasping and throwing her hands to her mouth. He presented Best Costume Design in the process – while wearing absolutely none of his own.

Fans quickly rushed online with one user writing: “John Cena naked at the Oscars is not something I was expecting.” Another wrote: “Naked John Cena bit might be the greatest Oscar bit of all time.”

NSFW dig

Emma Stone looked fuming

Emma Stone looked fuming after Jimmy Kimmel made a joke about her film Poor Things.

The host made a cheeky comment about the award-winning movie saying they couldn’t share the clips because they were “not safe for work”. The camera then panned to Emma – and fans thought she had a lot to say.

Viewers rushed to X to claim she thought they had called him a “p***k” for suggesting it was only about X-rated things. Another fan thought she had said “barely”, suggesting that it could have been shown on-screen.

Whatever Emma did say, she didn’t look thrilled with Kimmel.

Applauding pooch

Anatomy of a Fall dog Messi left viewers at home absolutely bewildered after he appeared on screen.

While most TV fans love to see a rogue dog surprising them, Messi had viewers utterly bewildered as he started clapping on camera. The pooch was applauding Robert Downey Jr after his acceptance speech, and one A-lister was thrilled about it.

Ryan Gosling was thrilled and shouting: “A dog!” when they showed him clapping, with one viewer writing on X that it was the “most relatable a celebrity has been in years”.

Incest joke

Bradley Cooper attended the awards with his mum

Jimmy Kimmel couldn’t help but troll members of the audience – and Bradley Cooper had a big’un.

The actor often brings his mum to awards shows with him to celebrate his success, and the host was quick to call him out on it. He said: “Bradley brings his mother to every award show, right?

“It’s very sweet, but I guess the question is – how many times can one bring his mum as his date before he is actually dating his mum?”

Luckily the dig didn’t seem to offend Cooper who, alongside his mum, slung his head back with laughter. It’s better to laugh than to walk on stage and whack someone when you’re not a fan of the joke…

‘Chaotic’ award

Fans couldn’t believe Al Pacino’s blunder

Christopher Nolan’s flick Oppenheimer took the gong for the Best Picture at the 96th Oscars, but it was Al Pacino’s odd way of announcing the winner had everyone talking.

Al Pacino skipped mentioning the other movies in the running and went straight for the envelope, saying: “Best Picture…uh, I have to go to the envelope for that. And I will. Here it comes. And my eyes see Oppenheimer?” Emma Thomas and Nolan hopped on stage to grab the award and shared a touching thank you talk.

Wardrobe malfunction

Emma took to the stage to accept her award for Best Actress following her performance in Poor Things.

However, things soon took an awkward turn after she was left desperately trying to fix her dress. She stated: “My dress is broken!” before adding: “I think it happened during [Ryan Gosling’s performance of] ‘I’m Just Ken.'”

She then showed off the back of her dress but it seemed she had things back in working order and was happy to continue on before giving her speech.

22-year wait and huge achievements
