Peter Andre has rarely spoken about his bond with stepson Harvey Price, who he helped to raise during his marriage to Katie Price, but he has addressed the 22-year-old in the past
Peter Andre has opened up about his stepson, Harvey Price, and fatherhood experiences. The pop sensation, now 51, shared a bond with Harvey, now aged 22, when he was hitched to Katie Price, 46.
Since their separation in 2009, Katie revealed that Harvey found their split tough to handle. His birth father is former professional footballer Dwight Yorke, who he does not have a relationship with.
Pete, who once intended to adopt Harvey, formed a strong bond with him while raising him during his and Katie’s marriage. Although he rarely brings up Harvey these days, but Pete recently reminisced about those years in an interaction with OK! magazine.

Currently a proud dad-of-five, two children from his previous marriage with Katie Price, Junior and Princess, and Millie, Theo, and baby Arabella who he shared with his doctor wife Emily. Pete recently declared his nappy-changing days over, stating: “I’ve changed six sets of nappies in my adult life, I’m done.”
Post-divorce, Katie alleged that Pete drifted from Harvey as the lad wouldn’t meet the ‘Mysterious Girl’ singer. In her memoir ‘Harvey and Me’, Katie opened up about the impact of her split from Peter Andre on her son Harvey. She wrote: “‘I began to notice a change in Harvey, I’d say things like, ‘Do you want to go see Daddy Peter today?’ and he’d shout: ‘No!’ So then I’d be like: ‘But he has a cake waiting for you.'”
Price went on to reveal: “The split from Pete really upset Harvey. It must have been frustrating for him at the time because he couldn’t express how he felt. ‘But now he can and he remembers a lot more than you’d think. It’s really sad.”
In a heart-wrenching 2010 Sky News clip, Peter Andre tears up discussing his adoption plans for Harvey.
The candid moment came after showing footage where Harvey’s biological father Dwight Yorke criticises Andre’s intentions. Yorke commented: “I understand that he has to play a role, because that comes as part of the baggage when you get involved with Kate. But for him to say he was going to adopt my kid – and now look what’s happened four years down the road [Pete and Katie split].
“Is he prepared to adopt Harvey at this stage? I don’t think so. The onus falls back on the father, which is me in the first place, so that’s why it should not have been mentioned.”
Visibly moved, Andre responded to Kay Burley during the Sky News interview: “No disrespect, but has he seen Harvey since this interview?
“The bottom line is this. I love that child alright, and I don’t care what anybody says, I love that child. I see that child.
“To me, a nice little thank you would be nice instead of telling me. I asked to adopt him because I love him. I didn’t ask to adopt him to be disrespectful. It angers me when people turn around and I get a comment like that.”
