Becky Vardy has moaned it is “hard’ being a WAG.
The wife of Leicester City star Jamie Vardy said footballers’ wives and girlfriends spend seasons in the shadows, have their lives “put on hold” and are “scrutinised’ and “unfairly judged” while supporting their partners “unconditionally” and picking up the pieces when things go to s**t”.
Posting a team photo of Leicester’s WAGs on Instagram she thanked them for their “love, support and strength” without which she said the club would not have won promotion back to the Premier League.

Becky, 42, who lost a high profile libel case to fellow WAG Coleen Rooney, wrote: “And finally a big shout out to these girls. Without your love, support and strength they couldn’t have done it. You spend seasons in the shadows but need the recognition you all deserve. It’s hard being a wife/girlfriend of a sportsman.

Two years ago Vardy lost millions fighting an unsuccessful High Court legal battle against ex-Manchester United and England star Wayne Rooney’s wife Coleen who accused her of leaking information she had posted on her private Instagram account.
Suspecting Becky was the culprit Coleen, 38, posted a series of fake stories on the account and blocked all followers except Rebekah from seeing them. When the bogus tales were published Coleen revealed the source of the leak on social media in dramatic style, announcing: :It’s…Rebekah Vardy’s account.”

The sting earned her the nickname Wagatha Christie’ after famous Brit crime writer Agatha. Becky denied she was the source of the leaks and sued Coleen for defamation. After a sensational trial a judge ruled Coleen’s claim was true and tossed out Rebekah’s claim leaving her with a £3.7million bill.
