Sharon Osbourne’s celebrity feuds – foul-mouthed rant, brutal swipe and family row

Sharon Osbourne has solidified her place among Britain’s most well-loved personalities.

But don’t take her kindness for weakness, as the 71-year-old is never one to back down from a war of words. That’s right, despite earning the love of the public on the X Factor, where she played good cop to Simon Cowell’s bad cop, Mrs O has proven herself as a fighting force, willing to go toe-to-toe with anyone who ruffles her feathers.

The music manager is capable of dishing out brutal insults and outwitting her rivals with the same ease she has exhibited in creating platinum-selling artists.

And with the TV titan set to leave Celebrity Big Brother tonight, following a dramatic stint in Britain’s most famous house, we thought it the perfect time to roll back the years and have a look at her greatest ever feuds.

Bruce Dickinson

While watching Sharon comfort an X Factor contestant after their music career crumbles before their very eyes, you never would’ve thought it possible that the judge would encourage a crowd to launch eggs at one of the biggest names in show business.

Back in 2005, Ozzy Osbourne and Iron Maiden’s Bruce Dickinson certainly weren’t on the best of terms. And if you’re not good with Ozzy, you’re definitely not good with Sharon.

While playing at Ozzfest in 2005 in Devore, California, Sharon cut off Iron Maiden’s power before watching with glee as the crowd pelted Bruce with eggs. She later branded the vocalist a ‘f***ing a**e hole’.

Simon Cowell

Despite spearheading possibly the most successful UK programme of the last two decades, Sharon and Simon Cowell haven’t always seen eye-to-eye, with the national treasure branding her old colleague ‘weird’.

She told The Sun: “He would not call Louis [Walsh] or I. He is very, what’s the word? Snotty. Simon just is. He has his little posse around him, the same people he’s had for years, and that’s who he talks to.

“He’s not really one of these guys who’ll be like, ‘Hey, great. You’ve given us a call. How are you doing? Yada, yada, yada’. He’s not one of those ‘checking in’ friends that see if you’re doing OK. We were, in the beginning, the three of us, really close friends. But then he kind of left our group and went on. But no, he’s weird as far as friends go, very, very closed off.”

She later accused the TV mogul of giving her the boot off the X Factor because of her age, adding: “I was signed on to do another show at the time. I was signed to go to England, and then Simon Cowell changed his mind and thought I was too old. Simon goes, ‘She’s old. We need somebody young. So if you want young, fire yourself and get rid of those man t**s. Call me tomorrow, and we’ll discuss it.”

James Corden

While the world utterly adored ‘Smithy’ from Gavin and Stacey, sadly, the man himself certainly isn’t Sharon’s cup of tea. Ultimately, if there’s one thing the Londoner doesn’t like, it’s something being a snob.

During a particularly interesting episode of Celebrity Big Brother, Sharon sat down for a chat, with her friend, Louis Walsh, about celebrities who name-drop. She claimed: “I tell you who does that: James Corden – he does that all the time. I go to him, ‘I really like your shoes,’ and he goes, ‘Yes, Stella McCartney’. I’m like, ‘I didn’t ask you who made them’. He constantly, constantly throws out names.”

Ellen DeGeneres

While once one of the most beloved names in American television, Ellen’s popularity has spiralled into the abyss amidst reports of the disgusting way she treats her staff. And it appears, like many members of the ‘Finding Nemo’ star’s workforce, Sharon is also not a fan. Just at the mere mention of the presenter’s name on Celebrity Big Brother, the X Factor icon pretended to vomit.

Anna Wintour

Although Sharon can’t stand James Corden’s braggadocious ways, it appears Vogue editor, Anna Wintour, can’t get enough of it. However, the talent spotter claims that the star of the Late Late Show may not reciprocate those emotions. Sharon asserted: “Oh, she loves [Corden]. She loves him. But who loves Anna Wintour? She does. I think she’s a C-word.”

Danni Minogue

Sharon Osbourne and Danni Minogue’s rivalry is the stuff of X Factor legend

When X Factor launched in 2004, Sharon was the only female member on the panel. However, in 2007, that all changed, when Danni Minogue entered the mix. And it didn’t take long for the girls to clash.

During an episode of Piers Morgan’s Life Stories, Sharon revealed: “I didn’t hate her because hatred is very close to love and takes a lot of emotion, and I don’t have that time for her.” She added: “She was like an insect, a mosquito that wouldn’t go away.” The pair have since made up, with the Celebrity Big Brother contestant admitting: “She’s alright.”
