Simon Cowell has started ignoring producers on Britain’s Got Talent.
The mogul, 64, and his fellow judges kept getting told to behave while making the show for this year’s auditions but didn’t take any notice. They kept pressing the golden buzzer multiple times even though they’re only meant to have one go each.
Simon said: “I love that there aren’t any rules on the show anymore. It is kind of like being back at school, because the teachers keep coming in saying, ‘You know, can we try and keep the golden buzzers down?”’

“And they know we’ve got absolutely no intention whatsoever of doing that. I keep saying, ‘Look, if something happens or the audience in particular are telling us, then we kind of have to’.
“I think they secretly love when it happens. But they do have to try and keep us in check. But I don’t think it matters.”
Their behaviour meant the show descended into chaos on a string on occasions during filming, but Simon didn’t care. He added: “I love it when things go wrong or the unexpected happens, otherwise it’s boring.”
Co-star Amanda Holden, 53, reckons Simon is to blame for things going wrong. She said: “Auditions were slightly chaotic this year… that’s down to Simon.”
Fellow judge Alesha Dixon, 45, was happy with the new regime. She said: “I do like to have rules. I do like a bit of structure, but at the same time, you have to embrace spontaneity and embrace what people are feeling in the moment.
“Sometimes your heart takes over your head and that’s when you have courage.” The new series is on ITV1 on Saturday at 7.30pm on Sunday at 7.40pm.
